The Belize Natural Energy Charitable Trust has launched its Empowerment Fund, and have signed an MOU, which will provide loans to entrepreneurs with projects that better communities. Thanks, BNE! "The BELIZE Natural Energy Charitable Trust is pleased to announce the launch of the first phase of its Empowerment Fund. The Overall objective of the Fund is to empower entrepreneurs through the establishment of revolving loan facilities to finance viable business ideas that contribute towards bettering Belizean communities. The first phase of the Empowerment Fund is being rolled-out through La Inmaculada Credit Union Limited with seed capital of $750,000 and will be implemented out of both the credit union’s Orange Walk and Belmopan offices."

Belize Natural Energy has another video out, this time about safety at the workplace. You might remeber that they won the 2013 GetEnergy Award for their Learning at the Core video. In this video they explain their desire for safety, how every part of their process has a safety element, and how they are always looking to improve their safety standards. It's great to see how closely their quality and safety are intertwined. Thanks, BNE, for protecting our environment!

The Belize Natural Energy Fire Unit has been doing some fire drills lately, but they had a real fire to extinguish at Never Delay. They were able to take some pictures at the scene. Great work. Thanks, BNE!

The University of Belize had their Cultural Day today, and Belize Natural Energy was there to participate and get some pictures. The had displays from the Chinese, Maya, Mennonites, Mestizo, Creole, and Garifuna, with abundant amounts of food.

Feelgood news of the day. The BNE Charitable Trust reached out to the Stann Creek Dsitrict by refurbishing 2 schools. Thanks, BNE! "The Belize Natural Energy Charitable Trust has spent almost 80,000 to renovate the school buildings belonging Maya Mopan Pre-School and the Richard Quinn R.C. School. This donation from the Trust has positively affected over 20 students and 2 teachers from the pre-school and 200 students from the primary school. The buildings for both schools were renovated after grants of 33 thousand dollars and 45 thousand dollars, which were disbursed last year, and after the work was completed, it was handed over today. "

Belize Natural Energy Won the Getenergy award for their 'Learning to the Core' video. BNE values education, and puts a lot into education their employees. If Belize really took down the Getenergy website due to all the voting, that's impressive. Congratulations, BNE!

You're got to hand it to Belize Natural Energy. They've got over 200 employees, most all of whom are Belizeans, and they help them get a formal eduction. This video explains that successful educational program. Great way to give back to the employees, which, when you think about it, are what really makes a company.
"When Belize Natural Energy (BNE) struck oil in June, 2005 it became the first company to discover oil in commercial quantities in Belize. Since the oil industry was effectively non-existent in the country, all requisite infrastructure and expertise had to be imported; by January 2006, the company made the first ever shipment of locally produced crude oil. There have been many firsts at BNE, a company that has operated with the guidance of its mission to positively impact the Belizean people. BNE's Training and Development Programme is one such manifestation of its commitment to the country and its people."

Cool news of the day. Belize Natural Energy's Fire Unit went to Buena Vista primary school to assist with their fire drill. They spoke to the students, and showed how their equipment works and stops fires. Thanks, BNE, for making their day!

The Corozal Community College won the Belize Band Fest today in Belmopan. Belize Natural Energy was one of the sponsors of the event, and they were there to get some pictures of the various bands. Congratulations to all participants on a job well done!
