The Benque Fiesta will be next Thursday through Sunday, July 13th through the 16th, and they have a promo video out. They'll have a rodeo one night, and activities every night. Check out the BVTC page for more information, and fliers for each night.

The Benque Fiesta is coming. Friday, July 15th through Sunday the 17th. They'll have live music every night, and they'll crown the winner of the Flor de la Feria pageant.

The 2019 Benque Fiesta is just over a month away. They'll have live music, DJ's, rides, food, sports, and much more. The Flor de la Feria pageant kicks off the celebration on the 12th of July, and it goes through the 14th.

The new Caribbean Culture and Lifestyle magazine has a great article about the Benque Fiesta, which goes from this Thursday, July 13th, through Sunday, July 16th. The Flor de la Feria pageant is Thursday, during the opening celebrations. The Super Feria Band will play on Thursday too.
"Benque Fiesta is a celebration held annually at Benque Viejo, in honor of the patron saint ‘Our Lady of Mount Carmel’ (Nuestra Señora de Monte Carmelo). It is the largest and longest religious festival held in the Cayo District which started on July 7th and leads to July 16th, the Patrons day.
As traditions stand, religious ceremonies, gatherings and nuptials commence– known as ‘Las Alboradas’. Church bells chime in light of morning service for the patron saint with morning praise and worship followed by small social gatherings around the community. Leading up to July 16, local residents take turns hosting small get-togethers, serving up traditional favorites. ‘Bollos’ ( small tamales), and sweet and savory pastries – ‘maja blanca’ being some of the popular delights."

The 50th Benque Fiesta starts next Thursday, July 14th, and runs through Sunday, July 17th. They have a lot of special celebrations planned for the 50th anniversary.

This was the Benque Fiesta weekend, and the Belize Tourism Board was there to get some pictures of the festivities. "Benque Viejo is a cultural destination for Belize’s Mestizo community; this is where you can enjoy the history of the Benque Fiesta, a tradition commemorating the Town’s Patrones 'Our Lady of Mount Carmel!' You’ll discover that this Catholic tradition started as far-back as the 1900s; it is held in the month of July annually!"

The Benque Fiesta's big weekend is just about here. Last week was the crowning of Seniorita Flor de la Fiesta. Congratulations Shelsee Hernandez, aka Srta. Frangipani, for wining the crown! In Bloom will be at the Benque Fiesta concert Saturday night. There will be 4 bands total, with a wide range of rock music. It'll be at the Metal Haven booth, and will start at 6:00pm.

The Benque Fiesta starts tomorrow! After the inauguration and some celebratory fireworks, the Seniorita Flor de la Feria will be crowned. On Friday, they'll have a dance. Saturday and Sunday, they'll have the Super Feria band playing after the daily festivities. Sunday is their Band Fest. Have fun!

Benque will be having their Noche Cultural tomorrow night. Orquidea Negra will be performing, and the Seniorita Flor de la Feria contestants will also be there. The event will be at the Cancha Marshalleck, and will start at 7:00pm.
In related news, the Benque Fiesta is next week, and Thursday night will be the Seniorita Flor de la Feria pageant.

"It starts with the official opening ceremony at the Cancha Marshallek in Benque Viejo del Carmen. Once the official ceremony is held and the fair is declared open by the Mayor of the town a truly spectacular show of fireworks, custom designed to mark the occasion provides a sparkling veil over Benque. It is perhaps one of the most impressive fireworks display in the entire country of Belize, as far as I’m concerned – THE BEST! I joined the hundreds of onlookers, visitors and residents on the open fields and enjoyed the impressive display. Afterwards, I headed to explore the festival grounds, finding it filled with fun games and entertainment for the entire family."
