The Benque House of Culture is teaming up with Helpage Benque, and having a cultural fair this Saturday, March 15th.  It'll start at 2:00pm at Centennial Park and the Benque HoC.  There will be lots of food, and a decoration paper cutting workshop.

"All these activities happening this Saturday March 15 @ the Centennial Park since 2:00 pm.  Don't miss the watery tasty 'cocoyol, maja blanca, dulce de panela and much more' Also register now for the 'papel picado workshop' and let's end the day by watching the 'Passion of Christ Movie.'"

Feelgood news of the day.  Today is International Senior Citizens Day, and Helpage Benque is in the spirit.

Feelgood news of the day.  The older generation had a great time at this year's Helpage Benque Party, and they even got live marimba music.  Are they beating up Santa Claus? 

"The Annual Helpage Party was celebrated on December 30th, at the Helpage Activities Center, a luncheon, games, and live marimba music was offered for this grand celebration. The Helpage Committee is extremely grateful for all the community support and collaboration to bring forth this event."

The Benque HoC will be having their Finados tomorrow for the Dia de los Muertos.  They will also be honoring Elias Awe.  The 9:00am prayer time has filled up, but they'll have space starting at 10:30.  Later in the evening, they'll have their Noche de Cuenta Cuentos, where David Ruiz and Pedro Can, among others, will tell some stories about Benque.

"Just to let you know, we are booked for tomorrow's prayer time that will start at 9:00 a.m so if you are planning to visit you are always welcome after 10:30 am.  Prayer leader will be Mrs. Maria Bejerano Martines, prayer ladies will be HelpAge Benque and students of Mt Carmel Primary. Also representatives of ISCR, Belize Archives & Records Service, National Heritage Library and Capital Newspaper will be present."
