The Passion of the Christ re-enactment in Benque will be on April 18th, and they are doing a casting call.  If you're interested, contact Jimmy Leslie or Lorena Calderon, or call 823-2024.


"A call to all youths who would like to be part of this year's cast for "The Passion of the Christ" dramatization 2014.  For more information contact Lorena Melgar Calderón or Jimmy Leslie, if you would like to be part of this annual event and reminiscence of our Lord Jesus Christ in Calvary...where He laid His life for the sake of our salvation.  The rehearsal dates to be announced soon.  If you wish to help in anyway or make a donation to make this event bigger than ever visit Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Parish Office on Church Street in Benque Viejo del Carmen or call 501-823-2024."

The Benque DYS is having their 'Play for Peace' basketball tournament at the end of the month.  If you are interested, you can contact Jimmy Leslie, or show up on June 18th at 7:00pm at Deacon's Court.  

 

"The Department of Youth Services in Benque Viejo in collaboration with the Benque Viejo Youth Sports Club present 'Play for Peace Basketball Tournament.'  This tournament is scheduled to start on June 27, 2013 and end on July 11, 2013.  Registration Deadline is June 22, 2013.  For more information visit the Department of Youth Services in Benque Viejo and contact Jimmy Leslie at 633-5050.  Or contact Mark Rosado at 631-5877 from Benque Viejo Youth Sports Club"

The National Youth Policy of Belize Launch is tomorrow, and the Department of Youth Services in Benque has a free bus to take people to the Bliss Centre to support it. 

 

"A bus is scheduled to leave Benque Viejo from in front of the 'marshallleck Cancha' on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at 7:15am.
Transportation is free...for more information contact Jimmy Leslie @ 803-3027 or 633-5050 or visit your nearest DYS office in your area if not from Benque Viejo."

Youth for the Future's office is now open in Benque!  Congratulations to Mr. Jimmy Leslie, who is the Youth Empowerment Coordinator.  Youth for the Future is a youth center aimed at empowering young people to pariticipate in the development of Belize.  More power to them!  You can contact them at yffbenque@gmail.com, and find them in the Benque Town Hall.

Play for Peace Tournament

The Play for Peace basketball tournament, which the Department of Youth Services of Benque is coordinating, starts tomorrow night at 7:00pm.  There are 5 teams, and they all get to play against each other.  The games will be held at Deacon's Court this weekend and next weekend, and the semi-finals are July 6th, with the finals on July 11th.

The Department of Youth Services is offering youth leaders an opportunity to attend their International Leadership Camp, which will be from July 21st through the 31st.  Here in Cayo, you can contact Jimmy Leslie at 803-3027.

 

"The Department of Youth Services is now accepting applications for its upcoming International Leadership Camp 2013. 

This is a 10 day residential camp full of fun and activities which caters for 150 youth leaders and will take place in the month of July from the 21st -31st at George Town Technical High School in the Stann Creek District...

If you are an executive member in a student council or community based groups...apply today.

Applications are available through any of the DYS district offices nation wide.

Youth Week Basketball Tournament

It's Youth Week, and the Department of Youth Services in Benque is having an under 18 basketball tournament for west Cayo youth.  They'll be having it each evening this week at Deacon's court.  Contact Jimmy Leslie at 633-5050 for more information.  Good luck, and happy Youth Week!

 

It's here the long awaited U-18 Basketball Tourney for youths living in Benque Viejo or Cayo West!  Starting Monday November 5 to Friday 9, 2012  All games are to take place at Deacon's Basketball Court from 6:00 p.m. onwards.
Note:
1. Ten players per team!
2. All players must be able to present proof of age, if requested.
3. The overall winning team receives a trophy!
4. All games are to be played under FIBA rules
