Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture

Another film is ready to be filmed around Cayo: The Bottle.  Like Kurse a di Xtabai, it'll be shot in Cayo, and the majestic areas surrounding it.  They'll have local actors and local musicians in the movie, and they are trying to raise some money to cover the productions costs.  If you can help them out, you'll be credited at the end of the movie.

The crew at Make-Belize Films, who created Kurse a di Ixtabai, have been busy lately.  Their latest creation is a series of commercials for the Australian Powerball lottery that feature Belize.  In the 2nd one, Xunantunich and Monkey Falls can both be seen.  The market can be seen in the 1st: http://vimeo.com/98635108.

Could Cayo be getting a reality TV show?  Jungle Moguls might get picked up.  Make-Belize Films, which did Kurse a di Xtabai, has a teaser trailer out for the show.  It worth watching for the laughs.

"Huge news today: our Cayo-based reality series 'Jungle Moguls' is one of 25 semi-finalists (from more than 500 concepts) for a new show on a MAJOR USA Network!!  At least one will get a production deal.  Finalists and winner(s) will be announced by the network in the coming weeks.  Fingers crossed!"

Kurse a di Xtabai will be premiering on July 13th at the Belize Film Festival.  We had the opportunity to see Matthew Klink's thriller last night, and it's a winner.  Funny, scary, and witty - the 'Hollywood' quote is hilarious - it's bound to score Make Belize Films the 1st place.  They've decided to move the BFF back to the city, so we'll just say, "good luck with that, and better luck next year."

Video of the day.  Cayo documentary artist Daniel Velazquez did a documentary about the making of Belize's first telenovela.  While it didn't take place in Cayo, we don't need any silly drama here, Make-Belize Films was started here.  You'll see what it's like behind the scenes when making a production. 

Daniel Velazquez was at the Cayo Art Festival, and he got some high quality pictures of the event.  Make-Belize Films had Kurse a di Xtabai DVD's on sale during the event, and the actors were there to sign them.

Kurse a di Xtabai, which was filmed in Cayo by Make-Belize Films, is getting mentioned quite a bit in articles about this year's Belize Film Festival.
