Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture

The King of the Hills, Cayo's signature bike race, was yesterday.  The Cycling Federation of Belize got some good pictures of the event.  There's even a video of the heartbreak climb uphill.  Congratulations to all the winners, and everyone that finished.

The Belmopan Cycling Classic was this weekend, and the  Cycling Federation of Belize has 100's of pictures from the event.

The Belize Audubon Society spent the weekend in Benque, where a lecture on conservation was given, and an Urban Bird Watch was successfully completed.  They found 38 different species of birds.

In related news, the middle week of November is when Benque is having their big festival.

The Belize Audubon Society has teamed up with the Belize Tourism Board, Smart, CACHE, NICH, and the Benque House of Culture to do an Urban Bird Watch in Benque.  Dirk Francisco will be leading the watch, and it's free.  It'll be Sunday, October 20th, starting at 6:00am.

Smart had their River Challenge at Agric Saturday morning.  Here are the results from the race.  Great job guys!

The 15th annual Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic was Sunday.  More pictures from the event have been posted.  There's a pre-cross country warm up race this Sunday.

The Inspiration Telethon will take place Saturday, June 1st, from 8am until 6pm.  Kim Simplis-Barrow, the Special Envoy for Women and Children, has a press release about the event, and the Inspiration Center that the telethon is raising money for.  You can call 0-800-INSPIRE if you'd like to donate.
