The reason why professionals deliver great service is no secret. We have invested a lot of time and efforts into perfecting our skills...So, when clients try the bargaining approach because they “didn’t budget for it,” a lot of us feel taken for granted and disrespected.
Very funny, only slightly exaggerated, but sadly not all that far off the mark. When put into different context, we can see how absurd and insulting some "proposals" from clients really are. No one who understands the real value of what they do would agree to do a job on "spec," or at a huge discount now with the promise that it will be made up to them on some undefined "future" job.
Unfortunately, as we all know this kind of bargaining goes on daily, and actors, voice actors or any artists or other freelancers who are party to this have no right to complain when the client offers them even less the next time or gives the job to someone else who is willing to work even more cheaply.
