This is interesting because it shows how far the concept of 'Curation' has come in the last 10 years. I don't remember much about it but I remember that in the early days of Blogger, perhaps even before Google bought it, they had a tool or bookmarklet or some little button that had certain curation abilities. My first blog was on Blogger and I remember using that tool. Later, I maintained a Posterous blog for a couple of years...maybe more. I liked Posterous a lot and was very sad when they sold it (Posterous) to Yahoo and then about a year later those jerks at Yahoo closed it down. I thought Posterous was a very nice blog with just the right amount of features to get the job done without getting too technical.

Google has just introduced "Collections", for Google+, a new service which allows any Google+ user to group his posts by topic and to create public, shareable collections of his favorite links, articles, videos and images. To use Google Collections, simply go to your G+ profile page and then select "Collections" on the drop down menu appearing on the top left part of the page. "Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections." You can either create new posts containing whatever type of content inside a collection, or assign an existing, published post to a collection you have just created. You can create as many collections as you like. Google+ Collections is available on the web and on Android (iOS coming later). My comment: Google+ Collections adds opportunity for creating additional value to G+ users by letting interests drive community engagement. This is a feature that sooner or later any social network will offer. Free to use. The best tools, web apps and resources for any independent web publisher
If you need a handy reference for your web publishing needs I have spent a few days pulling together the best tools I use and know-of that I would recommend to use, in an organized and curated link directory of over 70 different categories.
From "landing page builders" to "survey tools" and "domain name finders" I have you covered.
In general, I have limited the amount of tools and services listed per category to the top 5 I know as to serve also as a curated filter for the vast number of choices available out there.
This is definitely a work in progress as you need to continuously edit, refine and improve a directory like this to make it really useful. You are welcome to suggest tools and services that I have not included and I'll make sure that if they are valid ones they get their space too.

I didn't write this post with #Startups in mind, but I could have. Startups wrestle with content marketing. I suggest these content marketing tools for any startup:
* Paper.li
* Scoop.it
* Google Analytics
* Google Adwords
* Google Plus
* Twitter
* A Blog (WordPress)
It is possible to change the world with those seven tools.
The linked post explains how I use Paper.li for everything from spidering the social web to reputation management. If you are a startup and don't know what either of those ideas are, trust me you will and I promise to post more about content marketing for startups soon.
nonprofits of small and medium size are distinctly and significantly similar to start-ups. They can similarly utilize these content curation tools, especially nonprofit arts looking for online impact.

Haiku Deck (@HaikuDeck) is becoming one of my favorite Internet marketing tools. As I mention in the linked post great tools make good Internet marketers great and great IMers fantastic. Haiku Deck, a visual storytelling tool and presentation tool, is a GREAT and very cool tool.
Even better? You don't have to learn a whole new way of thinking to use Haiku Deck. The UI is intuitive and build FOR marketers by marketers.

Google Header Eats Los Angeles
Yes the Google+ Header just got bigger along with 41 other feature improvements to the leading search engine's social network. Recognizing that the most popular content on Facebook is pictures, Google+ boosted its ability to compete. Here is a quote from the Economic Times post:
"But the most compelling new attraction may be a new photo-management tool that promises to test how much control people want to cede to computers. It will also further blur the lines between a real moment in time and augmented reality."
I have tested some of the changes out. I like the look and feel. They need to work on getting the masses over there, even if it is for the communities.
I do think a little better documentation is needed.
