Finextra: Canada's leading telcos have launched a digital wallet that lets users make contactless payments with their handsets.

Suretap application with NFC launched in Canada with telcos. Android Pay and Samsung Pay will launch later this year will be in direct competition; giving consumers a choice over which service to choose. Launching ahead of Apple Pay, will give Android users a NFC wallet.. given Softcard in US (another telco JV) folded - the mobile wallet space is getting more competitive in Canada and this is just the beginning. What is amiss with Suretap is the need for a loyalty feature similar to Plenti.

Now you can add Balance Rewards card to the Wallet app for use at checkout with Apple Pay. As more retailers add rewards to the Wallet app, it will drive greater usage of Apple Pay and will likely extent to Android Pay and Samsung Pay.
