JAG Precision/Cybergun LAWSUIT IS OVER! - Breaking from Courthouse News Service | Thumpy's 3D House of Airsoft™ @ Scoop.it | Scoop.it

"LAS VEGAS (CN) - A California toy company settled a federal lawsuit Monday by agreeing to stop making toys modeled after Belgian guns.
Jag Precision reached a mediated settlement with and Belgian gun maker FN Herstal and French Airsoft toymaker Cybergun.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Gordon on Monday dismissed the European companies' lawsuit with prejudice after Jag Precision agreed to a permanent injunction against further trade dress infringements.
Jag Precision agreed to stop making toy copies of FN Herstal's SCAR, M249 and P90 military rifles.
The settlement gives Jag Precision one year to sell its remaining stock of infringing toy rifles, but it cannot make or sell any others in any variation.
Gordon ordered all parties to pay their own attorney's fees and legal costs....."

Zenitco Warning On Fake Products - Popular Airsoft NEWS

Zenitco Warning On Fake Products - Popular Airsoft NEWS | Thumpy's 3D House of Airsoft™ @ Scoop.it | Scoop.it

"Zenitco's attention has been called to copies of their products produced, especially for the airsoft market, without their knowledge or agreement. They are willing to negotiate with those willing to contact them regarding such copies, especially not using the Zenit markings and they will be doing legal action who will not.

They are looking into licensing their products to any interested company, though they will need more convincing. Their message, posted on Facebook, can also be read below:

Attention everyone.

FAKE PRODUCTS. They exist. We will not mention any companies as we don't deem them worthy of this, but please watch out.

Zenit has not given permission to, endorsed, or supported any of the companies currently producing these copies...."

Buyer Beware! - A caution and WARNING from Hyde Definition - hydedefinition.com | Thumpy's 3D House of Airsoft™ @ Scoop.it | Scoop.it

"...PLEASE NOTE: We are pursuing legal action against the counterfeiters, and we will also take action against any retailer who offers finished goods made from these counterfeit fabrics.

Once again – the only approved sources for genuine PenCott camouflage fabrics are us (Hyde Definition), MMI Textiles and Tacticaltrim.

Get the edge – get GENUINE PenCott camouflage!..."

Thumpy Covey's insight:

Good for them!  Cracking down on illegal manufacture is one thing, but "Wouldn't it have been easier to just destroy the product that didn't meet their specs?"   It was not ups to Hyde, as they explain in this piece...but a carefully written contract with the offending mill could also "nip this in the bud."

Thanks to Lawrence Holsworth for the great explainer post on the website! FoT!
