Le travail de traducteur peut s'avérer difficile. Le délais de traduction peut-être court, les attentes des fans incroyablement hautes... ce n'est rien de tout ça qui a frappé la traductrice d'Harry Potter en hébreu.

C’est à un éditeur de Pornic que l’on doit la traduction des aventures magiques d’Harry Potter vendues à 450 millions d’exemplaires et déjà transcrites en 73 langues, manquait le breton, c’est chose faite.

Amazon’s Kindle app and Kobo’s namesake app for iOS were both updated last month. And if you’ve been wondering when the other popular third-party iOS app would be updated, wonder no more. Just a few hours ago, Barnes & Noble’s Nook app for iOS has also received a significant update.

Much like Kobo, Nook for iOS now supports sideloading of ePubs and PDFs. Presumably, ePubs and PDFs may only be sideloaded onto the app if they’re either DRM-free or protected with Adobe DRM.

In addition, Nook for iOS now supports PagePerfect on iPhone 4/4S and iPad. PagePerfect, in case you don’t know, is just Barnes & Noble’s fancy way of referring to its enhanced e-book, magazine-like format.

The latest update to the app also brings improved font and margin sizes to further facilitate convenient reading. And to enable easier word lookup, the app now comes with a full dictionary, powered by the 11th edition of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary.

Pottermore has made the e-book editions of J K Rowling's Harry Potter series available in Japanese, with a Japanese version of the Pottermore online experience to be launched at a future date to be announced.
The Japanese editions are published in EPUB3 format, and can be read on any compatible device, with Japanese font enabled. Pottermore partnered with Sony and e-book platform booklista to produce the editions, as well as Rowling's print publisher in Japan, Say-zan-sha Publications.
Pottermore c.e.o. Charlie Redmayne said: "J K Rowling's Harry Potter books have been phenomenally popular in Japan and we are delighted now to make the e-book versions available in Japanese . . . We will soon be making the free to use experience available-which will offer Japanese Harry Potter fans the chance to explore and discover new writing by J K Rowling as well as immerse themselves in some great interactive content and community activities."

Le traducteur du premier roman post Harry Potter de la romancière britannique J.K. Rowling a été choisi par les Editions Grasset qui ont adoubé Pierre Demarty sur lequel reposera la version française du très attendu "The Casual Vacancy", a annoncé mercredi l'éditeur.

C'est sous le titre "Une place à prendre" que sortira le 27 septembre en France, en Belgique, en Suisse et au Canada le premier livre pour adultes de J.K. Rowling. Il paraîtra le même jour au Royaume-Uni, en Allemagne et aux Etats-Unis.

Normalien, agrégé d'anglais, traducteur, entre autres, de T.C. Boyle, Joan Didion et William T\. Vollmann, Pierre Demarty a reçu le prestigieux prix Maurice-Egdar Coindreau 2012 pour sa traduction des "Foudroyés" de Paul Harding (Le Cherche Midi), précise Grasset dans un communiqué.

"Une place à prendre" sera ensuite aussi publié en France par Le Livre de Poche.

Pour ce roman teinté d'humour noir de quelque 400 pages, J.K. Rowling a choisi un univers à mille lieues de celui de son célèbre sorcier, en plantant son décor dans la bourgade fictive de Pagford, où la mort soudaine du conseiller Barry Fairweather va semer la discorde.

J.K. Rowling, distinguée notamment de l'Ordre de l'Empire Britannique pour services rendus à la littérature jeunesse et de la Légion d'honneur en France, est la 15e femme la plus riche au Royaume-Uni, selon la liste établie en 2011 par le Sunday Times, avec une fortune de 625 millions d'euros.
