A potential “soft landing” for the US economy might just be in sight. The end-of-year decline in retail sales and industrial production were reminders that the economy is slowing, but January saw signs that the economy might still be growing too fast for the Fed’s liking.1 Some additional obstacles have appeared on the runway, however.
